The One Person Marketing Department

You built a one person company. So when did you become the marketing department?

I work with four clients. Just four. Each one hands the marketing work over to me, so it keeps moving while they get back to the work only they can do. There's a reason it's four. And it isn't modesty.

For the consultant, coach or expert with no team and no time.

The Problem

Right now, you are doing all six of these jobs.

Only one of them is the work only you can do.

The Expert

The thinking, judgement and client work only you can provide.

The Marketer

Posts, emails and campaigns.

The Copywriter

Every word on every page.

The Web Team

Pages, funnels, forms and fixes.

The Designer

Graphics, slides and covers.

The Administrator

Everything else that quietly consumes the week.

Every evening spent formatting a newsletter is client work you didn't bill, a follow-up you didn't send or a book you still haven't finished.

And here's the cruellest part: the busier you get with client work, the quieter your marketing becomes. So the pipeline is often emptiest at exactly the moment you finally look up.

How many of these six jobs did you actually start your business to do?

"Only ever do what only you can do."

The Flagship Service

What a seat includes

You hand the agreed marketing work over to me. It gets planned, written, shaped and completed every month, without you chasing it, so you can spend more of your working week on the work only you can do.

  • Your monthly marketing rhythm, owned from end to end

Content, emails, social media and funnel upkeep. Planned, written, designed and published so your marketing continues whether you are busy, away or absorbed in client work.

  • One focused planning conversation each month

Forty five minutes to review what matters, agree the direction and capture the ideas only you can provide. Then you return to your work, and I turn that direction into finished marketing.

  • Your voice, properly captured

I do not ask AI to guess what you sound like. I learn how you think, the language you naturally use, the ideas you return to and the distinctions that make your work yours. Your marketing should sound recognisably like you, only clearer, more structured and more consistent.

  • Campaigns built around proven persuasive frameworks

Good marketing is not a pile of disconnected posts. I structure campaigns around the reader, the offer, the buying journey and the action we want them to take, so every email, page and piece of content has a job to do.

  • A defined monthly output list

The priorities and deliverables are written down and agreed. You know what is being produced, why it matters and when it will be delivered. No vague retainers. No mystery hours. No unlimited task queue.

  • One person, with no briefing chain

No account manager. No junior hand-off. No explaining your business five times. The person you meet is the person who captures your thinking, structures the campaign and takes responsibility for the finished work.

A Client Partnership

A quarter of my client capacity. Direct access to my judgement.

A seat is not an unlimited content subscription. Each month, we agree the work that will make the greatest difference, and I make sure it gets done.

A part time marketing manager costs around £28,000 a year, before recruitment, software, management and holiday cover. An agency retainer buys you a slice of a junior's week.

From £1,997 /month

Your precise scope is agreed after the One Person Audit and our conversation, because the right level of support depends on what is already working, what keeps being neglected and how much you genuinely want to hand over.

  • Initial 90-day engagement
  • Monthly planning and priority setting
  • A defined schedule of agreed deliverables
  • Voice capture and ongoing voice development
  • Campaign strategy, copy and implementation
  • Onboarding included for founding clients
  • No hiring, managing or briefing chain
  • Priority access to fixed-scope add-on projects

The Transformation

Ninety days from now

Your newsletter went out this morning. You didn't write it.

Your LinkedIn presence has been active all month. You have barely opened it.

An enquiry arrived yesterday from someone who has been reading your emails for six weeks. You have never met them.

Your next sales conversation begins with, "I've been following your work for months."

The book is moving again, because your evenings belong to you.

And when a client asks who handles your marketing, you can say, "I have a marketing department." And smile, because it is true.

That is not a fantasy. It is what begins to happen when the right marketing work continues without depending on your spare time.

Why Only Four

Four is not a limitation. It is the whole point.

You suspected it about agencies. You were right.

They introduce you to the senior person and then pass the work down a briefing chain. That is one reason the finished marketing can feel generic, detached or unlike you.

Here, the person you meet is the person who listens, thinks, writes, structures and takes responsibility for the work. There is no one else between your ideas and the finished campaign.

If outsourcing failed before, it may not have been your fault.

You may have received generic content because the delivery model was wrong, not because you failed to provide the perfect brief.

I do not expect you to become an expert at briefing marketers. My job is to ask the right questions, recognise what matters and turn your knowledge into useful marketing.

AI is the assistant. I am the lead.

I use AI to remove production drag, not to replace judgement. It can help me organise research, explore variations, accelerate repetitive tasks and keep complex campaigns moving.

But it does not decide your positioning. It does not understand your clients better than you do. It does not choose the persuasive structure. And it does not get the final say.

I capture your voice, structure the campaign around proven frameworks and decide what is strong enough to appear under your name. So more of your investment goes into judgement, direction and getting the right work finished.

Nothing generic leaves under your name.

Your marketing should not sound as though it was produced for "a coach", "a consultant" or "an expert". It should sound like you.

That means understanding your stories, beliefs, phrases, methods, clients and point of view, then carrying them consistently through every campaign.

Full most of the time, on purpose.

New seats open only when capacity is available. When all four seats are taken, new enquiries join the waiting list.

The free Audit is where that conversation begins.

It all comes back to the same principle. You do what only you can do. I make sure the marketing gets done.

Rachel Groves

About Rachel

"AI did not become the department. It became my assistant."

I'm Rachel Groves. For 23 years, I have run the marketing operation behind small businesses, including seven figure expert businesses. The content. The copy. The campaigns. The funnels. The websites. The launches. The books.

During that time, I have taken more than 25 books to print, written more than 100 sales and landing pages and run hundreds of email, webinar and product launch campaigns.

But experience is not simply the number of assets produced. It is knowing what to ask, knowing how to listen for the language that makes someone distinctive, knowing which persuasive framework fits the campaign, knowing when a draft is technically competent but still does not sound right, and knowing what must happen next to move the work forward.

AI helps me remove production drag. I provide the voice capture, campaign architecture, judgement, direction and final standard. One experienced person, using modern tools to do the work that once required a scattered team.

Not content slop at scale. Marketing that sounds like you and has a clear commercial purpose.

The Way In

Start with the free One Person Audit

Most one person businesses are sitting on useful ideas, unfinished assets and marketing opportunities they have never had time to complete. The Audit helps reveal them.

Answer 20 quick questions about how marketing currently happens in your business. It takes approximately three minutes. You will receive your score immediately, together with a personalised report showing:

The Audit is free because it is the beginning of the diagnosis, not a substitute for it. Afterwards, you will be invited into a conversation with me. We will look at what the score reveals, what you want the business to achieve and whether a seat would be the right next step. No pressure. No generic pitch. A useful conversation about what your marketing actually needs.

Seats: 2 of 4 taken, 2 open

Two founding seats are currently available. When those seats are filled, new enquiries will join the waiting list.
